Mike Scaramella

Mike joined the Association in 2016 as a Patrol Officer and was promoted to Sergeant in 2017, and then Patrol Chief in 2022. He has a degree in Chemistry from the University of California San Diego. He also graduated from the San Diego Sheriff's Academy and worked for the Sheriff's Department before being hired on by the Carlsbad Police Department and eventually the Oceanside Police Department until 2007. He worked as a Patrol Officer, Uniformed Crime Investigator, Street Narcotics Officer, Criminal Investigator, Background Investigator, Internal Affairs Investigator, and Intelligence Unit Investigator. During his career, he also became a Licensed Private Investigator where he contracted with numerous police agencies and private corporations. For 20 years, his company contracted with the RSF Association conducting Pre-Employment Background Investigations for Patrol and Internal Investigations departments.

Mike has been married for 43 years. He and his wife have two children and two grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family and golfing.
