The Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe is hosting a blood drive on Sunday, October 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the preschool parking lot at 6225 Paseo Delicias. In partnership with the American Red Cross, the church is urging community members to donate blood for patients in local hospitals. All donors will receive a gift card for Chick-fil-A in Encinitas.

Donating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help save a patient's life. For the hour it takes to give blood, there could be a whole community of people thankful for another birthday given to their loved one.

Donors must be at least 18 years old, and all blood types are needed, especially O negative, A negative and B negative.
